Let's Scrap - Sketch Challenge

This Double page LO is a sketch challenge over at Let's Scrap

I have used all Kaszazz products for this LO and they have worked wonderfully.

Kaszazz is an Australian owned company that sells beautiful, quality scrapbooking, stamping & embellishment products.  I am very pround to say that I am an independent consultant for Kaszazz.  If you would like to purchase any products from Kaszazz I am happy to help you do this.  The full catalogue is available to view at the Kaszazz website.

This is the Sketch for this week 30/03/2011

This is my take on the sketch

On this page I have inked the edges of the paper using Victorian Velvet Distress ink and my Ink Blending Tool.  I have then used a couple of different printed papers to give some variation.  By placing the rub-on tree onto some transparent plastic sheet I have then cut it out and raised it with magic mount.  This gives the page some more dimension.  I have also used the frame from the same set of rub ons and placed it around the photo.  I have used stickers for the Title and placed a strip of sticky bling rhinestones under the 'feeding'.  I have used some organdy ribbon and threaded it with some cotton in order to pull it and make it ruffled.  I have then used some design adhesive with some cotton candy glitter - just for that little something extra.

This is a closer photo of the ribbon and design adhesive on the side of the page.  The ribbon actually looks fantastic even though it hasn't shown up all that well in the photo

This is my second page in the Double Page LO.  This page is fairly basic.......... I started off by inking the edges in Victorian Velvet distress ink.  I have then used the same paper that I used on the 1st page to mount my photos.  After mounting the photos I lined them all up along the sides evenly and added some sticky bling rhinestones between the photos.  I have then placed the large photo in the middle.  I have used a rub-on from the same packet as the 1st page and placed it at the bottom of the page.  I have then added some journalling at the bottom as well.  I was unsure about what to put in the space at the top so decided to use some more design adhesive to fill in the space, it also helps to tie the 2 pages together a bit more.

I really hope that you enjoy what I have created with this LO.  Thanks very much for looking.

Let's Scrap - 3-23-11

Ok so I know I have have been on a Colour Challenge bender lately but I stumbled across another fantastic site the other day called Let's Scrap.  This site offers sketch challenges.  I must admit - I have never done a sketch challenge before.  This happened to be my first one.  I rather enjoyed it!

This is the sketch this week

This is what I have created for this weeks challenge.

This is my take on the first page of the Double Page LO.  I have used this LO to showcase photos from Mackenzie's 3rd birthday.  I made her a Tinkerbell cake for her birthday because she loves Tink at the moment (as does her mum).  I have used the colours from her cake as the colours for this LO

I cut the title out using my Cricut Expression Machine - with the Cindy Loo cartridge.  I am really enjoying my Cricut machine........... it is still a relatively new toy to me and I am still learning all about it.  The latest thing that I am learning is the Cricut Design Studio - what a fantastic addition to the Cricut range.
My other obsession at the moment is PRIMA - I just LOVE Prima!!!!!  I have used a number of Prima flowers on this LO.

I used my Cricut to cut out the pink doily background for both of these pages as well.  It is quite an event in my house when the Cricut is in use - the kids and Malcolm are intrigued with how it can do what it does.  So when the Cricut starts cutting it gets an audience.  It is actually rather cute.  I have also used it to cut out the "3 Today" title.

This is a handmade Lace flower that I made using lace that cost me 25cent per metre (only used about 30cms) and 1 Prima jewelled centre.  I just love this flower - this photo really doesn't do it justice.
All up this flower cost less then 50cents which I think is just fantastic :-)

Another shot of the flowers - I also used some crochet lace on this LO that I think cost about $1 per metre and I used less then half a metre.  I think it adds a nice touch to the LO.

This is both pages of the LO together.  I really like the way that it turned out.

This is a close up of the flowers on the first page.  There is also a bit of bling included that I put together myself using individual rhinestones

If you would like to check out the other inspirational LO's or join in the challenge yourself head on over to Let's Scrap and check it out :-)
